Description

Four-legged, self-elevating cantilever-type jack-up rig built by Galatzi Shipyard, Romania in 1985 and extensively rebuilt in 2007, classed under Germanischer Lloyd. Designed for operations in up to 91 m WD and capable of drilling to 25,000 ft. The rig is fitted with an 80 x 80 ft helideck rated for PUMA SA 330 B / BELL 212–412. Accommodations for 90 + 2 hospital. Built to withstand harsh conditions: operating seas of 30 ft @ 12 sec and storm seas up to 39 ft @ 10 sec, wind up to 86 knots, and 2 knots surface current.

Main dimensions: 52.42 m LOA, 40.84 m beam, 6.40 m depth, with a transit draft of 9.75 m. VDL rated at 2,000 mt. Capacities include 299 m³ liquid mud, 580 m³ drill water, 202 m³ potable water, 260 m³ fuel oil, 131 m³ each bulk mud and cement, and 3,000 sack capacity.

Drilling package features an Upetrom TD-320-43R derrick (144 x 45 x 30 ft, 881 kips dynamic load), Upetrom TFM-38 drawworks (3,000 HP), NOV TDS 11SA 500 t top drive, and NOV electronic driller’s cabin. Rotary table is Upetrom MRL-375 (37.5 in opening), with IR ST 80 pipe handling.

Equipped with 3 x 1,600 HP triplex mud pumps, 4 x Brandt VSM 300 shale shakers, desander and desilter units, VSM 300 mud cleaner. BOP stack includes 13-5/8 in Hydrill annular and Cameron U 10K single & double rams. Diverter: MSP 29.5 in x 500 psi, with Koomey 80 control unit. Choke manifold is 4 in x 10K with remote and manual chokes.

Power provided by 5 x Cat 3512 DITA, total 8,430 HP, and 1 x Cat C-18 DITA emergency unit. Deck cranes: 2 x AmClyde 40 t @ 6 m, and 1 x AmClyde 25 t @ 7.5 m.

Jacking system: Orion class pin & hole with 4 x 400 ft legs, leg spacing 126 x 109 ft, and spud cans 38.83 ft dia x 8 ft. Cantilever: 55 x 20 ft slot. Mooring with 2 x 20 t electric winches, 1.25 in x 300 m wire/chain, and 2 x 4.5 t Hall anchors.
