Description

This 2011-built Samsung 12000 Double Hull design DP3 Drillship is ABS Classed and equipped to conduct offshore deepwater drilling campaigns in harsh environment weather conditions worldwide. It is equipped to operate in water depths of up to 12,000 ft, with a maximum drilling depth capabilities of 40,000 ft. The vessel has an overall length of 228.6 m, a beam of 41.8 m, and a depth of 18.9 m, with an operational draft of 11.9 m and a transit draft of 8.5 m. The ship has a variable deck load capacity of 22,046 ST, making it highly capable for simultaneous operations.

Accommodating 200 personnel, the vessel is equipped with advanced drilling systems including a 200 ft x 60 ft x 80 ft derrick with a 2,000 kips compensating crown block and NOV SSGD-5750 drawworks. The drilling equipment includes 4 x NOV 14-P-220 mud pumps, and a Hydra-Racker System HR-IV for tubular handling. It features a 4 x 85 MT electro-hydraulic knuckle-boom cranes, capable of handling 18m radii.

The rig is powered by 6 x 7,000 kW STX-MAN engines, each driving a 7,000 kW 11kV generator. For DP-3 redundant drilling operations, the vessel is equipped with 6 x Rolls Royce Aquamaster fixed-pitch azimuth thrusters and all A-60 compartments are automated with bridge & ECR respectively. Its BOP system includes multiple NOV-Shaffer units and is managed by a NOV-Shaffer 5th Gen. Multiplex Control System, ensuring deepwater drilling operational reliability & safety.

This drillship is also equipped with extensive storage for fuel, drill water, liquid mud, brine, and bulk materials, along with advanced riser handling and solids control systems. It is ideally suited for deepwater drilling projects, with its highly advanced equipment and substantial operational capacity.
