Description

This is a highly capable drillship, built by Samsung Heavy Industries in 2014, ABS-classed and she is designed for deepwater drilling, with a max water depth capacity of 12,000 ft and a drilling depth capability of up to 40,000 ft. The rig is equipped with a robust derrick measuring 748 ft x 137 ft x 210 ft x 60 ft, designed to handle 135 ft tubulars. The crown block is fitted with a 9 x 72” sheave arrangement, and the vessel features dual NOV Active Heave Drawworks rated for 2,500 kips, driven by 1,150 HP AC motors with 21/8″ line. The hoisting capacity is 1,250 ST, while the rotating torque is 90,740 ft-lbs.

The vessel’s dynamic positioning is managed by a Kongsberg DYNPOS AUTRO system, ensuring DP-3 redundant operations all of the time. The station-keeping is supported by six Rolls Royce Aquamaster fixed pitch azimuthing thrusters, enabling efficient maneuverability in harsh environment weather conditions. The vessel is equipped with a complete BOP system, including 2,640 + 2,000 + 1,000 kips capacities, and a BOP trolley rated at 540 tons, in addition to 2 x 240 ton BOP gantry cranes. It also features a set of cranes, including 4 x 85 MT electro-hydraulic knuckle-boom cranes and a 9 MT electro-hydraulic tubular handler.

Storage capacities include 46,500 bbls for fuel, 15,700 bbls for drill water, and 12,400 bbls for liquid mud. Additionally, the vessel has storage for 19,028 bbls of brine, 6,535 bbls of base oil, and 32,000 cu ft of bulk material. The quarters provide accommodation for 200 personnel, while the vessel’s mud pumps include 4 x NOV 14-P-220, 7,500 psi pumps. The vessel is powered by 6 x HIMSEN engines, each delivering 8,000 kW at 720 RPM, driving 7,760 kW generators, and complying with Tier 2 emission standards.

This drillship is equipped with advanced pipe handling and riser tensioning systems, including dual wireline riser tensioners with 225 kips and 50 ft stroke, and NOV-Shaffer 6th Gen. Multiplex Control Systems suitable for operations at 12,000 ft depths.
