This is one of my favourite listed boats. It has to be mentioned first that she is made out of GRP and not wood as her looks may deceive. It follows that this is a traditional looking trawler and will appeal to many that wish to own something different. The first impression is that this boat has been extremely well cared for and equipped extremely well. The owner mentions that she is extremely economical at her cruising speed as she has a large fuel capacity and therefore has a long range allowing for choices on where best to refuel. This Chinese Junk built in Hong Kong appears to be in very good condition. Her hull and woodwork are original teak and the quality of the timber is easily seen. Her bilges are completely dry with no sign of humidity. She has recently (June 2023) been out of the water for maintenance. There was no sign of any wood rot on the underside. She has been primed and painted throughout and now looking great. She was first bought in 1967 by the actor Rick von Nutter who at the time was married to the famous Swedish actress Anita Eckberg. One just needs to see the internal and external videos of this boat to realise that this is a much loved and cared for boat. The owner’s cabin has a massive double bunk and when the children or grandchildren come sailing there is plenty of space with a total of 7 berths.
