Tintin was built in 1927 in Oude Wetering by Bok en Meyer as a Rietaak, a barge for carry reeds or peat which was the main fuel source in the Netherlands between the wars.
We spent a long time looking for just the right barge:
• It had to be less than 20 meters to avoid the expensive regulations
• It had to have two double cabins
• It had to have space to eat outside as well as inside
• It had to have good headroom, I am over 6ft 3” (1m.91)
